Yes, and it is intentional. The amber base tint in low UV conditions is what gives the Copper its contrast-enhancement properties even before full darkening. That light amber state is the lens performing exactly as designed for overcast conditions, indoor-outdoor transitions, and low-angle light. It is not underdarkened — it is doing its job.

A fair concern. Most cheap photochromic lenses take 5-10 minutes to lighten — which is frustrating when you walk from sun to shade. The ActiveDim Vision lens darkens within seconds and lightens significantly faster than standard photochromics. More importantly, the amber tint means the lens is still enhancing contrast at every intermediate state — so even mid-transition, it is working for you rather than against you.
